Abstract

Torikin, 2020. The Effect of Work Discipline and Motivation on the Performance of Civil Servants in the Education and Culture Office of Tegal Regency. An organization must be able to manage the work of its employees in order to achieve the goals set. Employee performance is influenced by ability, effort expended and organizational support. Employees who have the ability and high level of business and have the support of the organization must be able to provide good work as well. in the Office of Education and Culture of Tegal Regency there are still violations committed by employees of the Office of Education and Culture of Tegal Regency, such as employee behavior that is not in accordance with the employee code of ethics which suspends work and leaves the office during working hours to take care of personal interests and sometimes employees are not permitted in advance to superiors. So if another employee or employer needs the employee, it will be difficult to find it and office work will be delayed. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method. While the data analysis method used is Spearman rank correlation analysis, Spearman rank correlation coefficient significance test, multiple correlation analysis, significance test of multiple correlation coefficient and analysis of the coefficient of determination. Based on the calculation of the Spearman rank correlation of work discipline on employee performance. Based on the calculation of Spearman rank correlation motivation on employee performance. Based on the calculation results of multiple correlations of work discipline and motivation on employee performance the correlation value obtained is 0.793 with a Fcount value of 72.662> Ftable of 3.10. The conclusion of this study is 1) work discipline has a significant effect on the performance of civil servants 2) motivation has a significant effect on the performance of civil servants 3). work discipline and motivation together have a significant effect on the performance of civil servants Keywords: work discipline, motivation, performance
