Abstract

AVITRANANDA, KHARISMA SETYA. 2020. Implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) Based on Local Wisdom Tea Garden Kaligua in improve Critical Thingking Ability. Essay. Science Education. Faculty of Teacher Training and Education. Pancasakti University Tegal. Mentor I : Mobinta Kusuma, M. Pd Mentor II : M.Aji Fatkhurrohman, M. This study aims to find out: (1) Improving students 'critical thinking skills with the Problem Based Learning model based on local wisdom, (2) The effectiveness of the Problem Based Learning model of learning based on the local wisdom of the Kaligua tea plantation and (3) The students' responses to the model Problem Based Learning based on local wisdom of the Kaligua tea plantation. The approach used in this study is a quantitative approach. This type of research is quasi-experimental. The study design used was pre test post test control group design. The population of this research is grade VII students. Samples were taken using purposive sampling technique, namely class VII C totaling 26 students and class VII D totaling 25 students. The instrument used was a test in the form of critical thinking skills test questions for students, a questionnaire to determine students' responses to the problem-based learning model based on local wisdom. Data analysis used normality test, homogeneity test, t test and N-gain test. The results of the analysis of normality and homogeneity tests indicate that the data are normally distributed and homogeneous. T-test analysis results obtained sig. (2-tailed) 0.00 <0.05 indicates an increase in students' critical thinking skills. The results of the N-Gain experimental class 65.05% showed quite effective, so that the problem-based learning model based on local wisdom was effective enough to be applied to learning in improving critical thinking skills, while the results of the questionnaire analysis of students' responses to learning were 78,10 % categorized as well.
