Abstract

ABSTRACT Putrinanda, Safira. 2020. 1616500045:“The Effect of Google Classroom E-Learning Platform Towards Student’s Writing Skill on Recount Text”. Research project. Strata I program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal, The First Advisor Drs. H. Rofiudin, M.Hum and Second Advisor Anin Eka Sulistyowati, S.S, M.Hum. Key words: E-Learning Platform, Google Classroom, Writing Skill on Recount Text The objective of this research project are 1) to find out whether the use of Google Classroom gives positive effect toward student’s writing skill on recount text. 2) to find out whether or not there is any significant difference between the students who are are using Google Classroom and those who are not using Google Classroom. The research hypothesis are 1) Using Google Classroom gives positive effect on the students skill in writing at the ninth grade students of SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal in the academic year 2020/2021. 2) Using Google Classroom does not give positive effect on the students skill in writing at the ninth grade students of SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal in the academic year 2020/2021. In this research, the population is all the ninth grade students in SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal which is totally 105 students. The writer uses simple random sampling with two group design (experimental group and control group). The total of sample is 30 students. 15 students is as experimental group and 15 students as control group. The experimental group is the group of students who are taught using Google Classroom as media. The control group is the group of students who are taught without using Google Classroom as media. After teaching 6 meetings, the writer gives guided writing test to experiment group and control group. This research uses SPSS program to analyze data. The t-test is higher than t-table (-7,831) > (-1,761) and P value (0.00) < α (0.05). It means the use of Google Classroom as media is effective to teach writing recount text. By using group statistic the writer finds the total number of respondents is 30 students, mean of experiment group is 85,73 and the control group is 75,20. It means the experimental class is better than the control class, or in other words learn writing skill in Google Classroom is better. The finding shows that the use of Google Classroom as media is effective and there is significant difference in teaching writing recount text to the ninth graders of SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal.
