Strata I Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal, The First Advisor is H. Sumartono, M. Pd and The Second Advisor is Nur Aflahatun, M. Pd. Keywords: Online learning media, Edmodo Platform, Students’ Ability in Writing Report Text. The objectives of this research are 1) to find out whether the use of the Edmodo platform gives a positive effect on students’ ability in writing report text or not, 2) to find out whether there is a significant difference in writing scores between students who are taught by using Edmodo and those who are taught without using Edmodo or not. The research hypothesis is there is a positive effect of using the Edmodo platform on students’ ability in writing report text at tenth-grade students of MAN Kota Tegal. In this research, the population is the tenth-grade students of MIPA MAN Kota Tegal, which is a total of 180 students. The writer uses purposive sampling with two group designs (experimental group and control group). The total sample is 40 students, 20 students are as experimental group and 20 students are as the control group. The experimental group is the group of students who are taught by using the Edmodo platform. The control group is the group of students who are taught without using the Edmodo platform. After teaching for six meetings, the writer gives a writing test to the experimental group and control group. The writer analyzed data by using a t-test on SPSS 25 program. The result of Paired Sample T-Test in the experimental group shows that sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05. It means the use of the Edmodo platform gives a positive effect on students’ ability in writing report text. Meanwhile, the result of the Independent Sample T-Test shows that sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 < 0.05. It means there is a significant difference in writing scores between students who are taught by using Edmodo and those who are taught without using Edmodo. Based on the result of this research, the writer suggests to English teachers use the Edmodo platform as teaching media to improve the students writing ability.
