Abstract

VIRGI DIMAS RIZZULFA FAZA. 2021. 1617500013. “An Analysis on Students’ Difficulties in Learning Listening Through Online Media (A Case study at twelfth grade students of SMK Ma’arif NU 01 Wanasari)”. Research project strata 1 program, teaching training and education faculty. Fisrt advisor is Sumartono, M.Pd and second advisor is Sanday Jamaludin, M.Pd. Keyword : listening Comprehension, Online media, Student Difficulties in learning listening. This research focuses in analyzing students’s difficulties in learning listening trough learning media. Learning listening has an important role in our live. In our daily life listening skill has imporatnt role in communication, good communication will happen if the speaker and listener have a good listening skill to transfer information each other. The purpose in this research is to find out students’ difficulties about learning listening through online media. This research uses case study method. Source of data in this research is student perception from questionnaire. In qualitative research using open-ended questionnaire to collecting the data. The result of the research can be seen bellow: Perceptions of learning listening through online media, (1) Unfamiliar vocabulary, the student sometimes encounter unfamiliar words that cause them to stop and think about the meaning of the words and thus cause them to skip the next part of the sentence and the next part of the activity. (2) Noise, Noise in the room and poor practicum preparation will make students unable to concentrate on listening to the recorded material. (3) Lack to concentration, This problem will interfere with their hearing because they cannot concentrate and lose their hearing. (4) Bad internet connection, students can’t focus on learning because of poor internet connection. The conclusion is the problems in listening comprehension that students face are not only from the listeners themselves but also from the content material and the listening comprehension environment. Therefore, the students should study hard and practice more to improve their listening comprehension.
