The purpose of this study was to analyze the types and factors of anxiety in speaking English. This study involved 44 second-semester students from the English Department at Pancasakti University Tegal. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis. Questionnaires are used as instruments to obtain data. SPSS 22 was used to examine the questionnaire's validity and reliability. The data was then reported systematically to provide an overview, which was then compiled into a table. The results of this study showed that types of speaking anxiety are the highest specific-situation anxiety (48%) and the lowest is state anxiety (46%). External factors of speaking anxiety are the highest grammar and pronunciation (61%) and the lowest is peer factor (43%). Internal factors of speaking anxiety are the highest stage fear (56%) and the lowest is shyness factor (36%). The study's findings support students' efforts to learn how to speak English without feeling nervous, while the study's findings also assist teachers' efforts to boost students' self-confidence, particularly in relation to the affective domain.
