Tunarsih, 2023. 1618500062: “The Effect Of Podcasts: Case of Audio Vs Audiovisual Podcasts to Improve Listening Comprehension in Vocational High School (An Experimental Research at SMK Ihsaniyah Tegal City in Academic Year 2022/2023).” Research Project. Strata 1 Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal, The First Advisor is Drs. H. Rofiudin, M.Hum and The Second Advisor is Sanday Jamaludin, M.Pd. Keyword: Podcast, Audio Vs Audiovisual, Listening Comprehension, Vocational High School. The objective of this research project is to find out the positive effect of podcasts on listening comprehension. Podcasts are a source of mobile technology innovation in which digital video and audio are broadcast and can be downloaded and played on mobile devices. The research hypothesis is the use podcasts gives positive effect to improve students’ listening comprehension. Podcast media is applied to the eleven grade students of SMK Ihsaniyah Tegal City in the Academic Years 2022/2023. The approach used in this study is quantitative. This type of research is a true experiment. The research design is a pretest-posttest control group design. In this research, the population is all of eleven grade students in SMK Ihsaniyah Tegal City, which totally 66 students. The researcher uses cluster random sampling with two group design (experiment group and control group). The total of sample is 33, 18 students is as experiment group and 15 students is as control group. The experiment group is the group of students who are taught by using Podcast Audio. The control group is the group of students who are taught by using Podcast Audiovisual. The data is taken with the test technique. Data were analyzed using an independent sample t-test. The results of the study show that there is a positive effect of the use of podcasts on improving students' listening skills before and after applying to learn using podcast media. It is known from the results of the analysis of the independent sample t-test in the experimental class that the value of Sig. (significance) = .009 < 0.05 then Ho is rejected so Ha is accepted. The researcher suggest to English teacher use Podcast media to improve students listening comprehension.
