Abstract

Onion (Allium ascalonicum L.) is one of important commodities and quite dominant in Brebes Regency. National need of onions is 750,000 ton year and the demand is predicted to reach l,060,400 tons in 2019. The union export needs 2,500 tons/year and only 1500 tons/year fulfilled. The average productivity of the national onion is only about 9.24 tons/ha, well below the production potential which is above 20 tons/ha. Red onion productivity in Brebes Regency currently only ranges from 80.00-137. 72 quintal/ha because it still has many obstacles both from the aspect of mastery of effective technology but environmentally friendly, management and capital. This IbM activity was held in April - November 2017 and partnered with Partners IbM-1 and Mitra IbM-2 in Banjarsari Village, Brebes Sub-district, Brebes District. Biofilter technology, fertilizer and pesticide exterminator from organic material at IbM activity enable onion cultivation can be done 4 times whereas before IbM activity can only be done 3 times because of constraint of water limitations.
