Abstract
ABDULLAH KHARIS TAUFIQI, 2019. "Analysis of Heating Temperature Variation in Plastic Injection Machine" Thesis of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Pancasakti University, Tegal, 2020. Plastic injection is the process of forming a product from plastic material with a variety of shapes and sizes. The results of plastic injection must meet the demands of, among other things, good size and appearance or there should be no surface defects such as shinkmarks, air traps and non-smooth surfaces. Plastic materials used include polypropylene, polyethylene, polysterene, mixed plastics. The process of forming plastic products requires various parameters of the injection machine, including heating temperature, melting temperature, cooling, holding time, injection speed. These parameters can affect product results, so they must find suitable variations according to the product. In this study, the method used is an experimental method in the form of temperature variations of 135 0C, 150 0C and 165 0C given with three experiments in each temperature. After doing research, the results obtained are the value of the length shrinkage and diameter shrinkage on plastic injection machines. The value of the temperature variation test results are fluctuating with the largest shrinkage value of 27.7 cm, the value of 2 mm diameter shrinkage with 3 mm nozzle and the smallest value of the 22.4 cm length shrinkage, 2 mm diameter shrinkage value with 3 mm nozzle. After testing, the greater the temperature given, the greater the shrinkage value. Keywords : heating process, temperature variation, shrinkage.
