Abstract
ROSYADI, AGHNIA HUSNA. 2020. 1616500065: “The Effectiveness of Picture and Picture Learning Model in the Teaching of Writing for the Seventh Grade of Secondary School”. Research Project. Strata 1 Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal. The first Advisor is Drs. JCS. Pradjarto, M.Pd and the second Advisor is Sanday Jamaludin, M.Pd. Key Words: Picture and Picture learning model (PPLM),Writing Achievement The objective of this research is to find out whether Picture and Picture learning model (PPLM) is effective to be used in the teaching of writing for the seventh grade students of SMP N 19 Tegal in academic year 2020/2021. Based on the review of related theories and theoretical framework, the research hypothesis is proposed as follows : Picture and Picture learning model (PPLM)is effective to be used in the teaching writing for the seventh grade students of SMP N 19 Tegal in academic year 2020/2021. The population of this research is all of the VII seventh grade students in the first semester of SMP N 1 Tegal in academic year 2020/2021. The total number of the students is 222. The samples of the research are 64 students taken by using cluster random sampling. They are classified into two groups, group I consists of 32 students as experimental group who are taught by using Picture and Picture learning model and group II consists of 32 students as control group who are taught by using Project Based Learning (PBL). The writer uses writing test as the instrument of the research. The type of the test is multiple choice tests with four options. To know the validity of the instrument, the writer had tried out the instrument by giving a test to 32 students having the same level competence. Data analysis of this research is tested by using t-ratio. The result of computing t-ratio score is 5,384. While score of t-table at the degree of freedom (df) 62 on the level significant of 5% is 1,670. Thus, t-ratio is higher than t-table (5,384>1,670). It means that there is any significant difference between experimental group and control group. So,the hypothesis of this research is accepted. The conclusion of this research shows that the use of Picture and Picture learning model (PPLM) is effective to be used in the teaching of writing for the seventh grade students of SMP N 19 Tegal in academic year 2020/2021.
