Abstract

Nadhifatuzzahro, Auly 2023. 1618500010: “The Effect of Creating TikTok Video on Students' Speaking Ability”. Research project. Strata I program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal, The First Advisor Sumartono, M.Pd. and Second Advisor Sanday Jamaludin, M.Pd. Keywords: The Effect, Speaking Skill, Creating Video. The objectives of this research are (1) To find out the effect of create TikTok videos giving a positive effect on students’ speaking ability. (2) To find out the Implementation of create TikTok videos on students' speaking abilities at Al-Irsyad Senior High School. In this research, the population is the tenth-grade students of Al-Irsyad Senior High School, which is a total of 180 students. The researcher uses cluster random sampling with two group designs (experimental group and control group). The total sample is 44 students, 22 students are in the experimental group, and 22 students in as the control group. An experimental group is a group of students creating TikTok video, while the control group without create TikTok video. After eight meetings of treatment, students were given a post-test similar to the pre-test to assess the effect of the teaching program on students' speaking ability. To determine if the test results were statistically significant or not, the paired T-test was used and the results of the tests showed that the experimental group had improved their speaking ability more than the control. Based on the results of the independent sample t-test, the sig. (2-tailed) value is 0.000 which is lower than 0.05. There is a significant difference in speaking scores between students who are taught by making TikTok videos and students who do not create TikTok video. On statistics, it can be seen that the average post-test score of the experimental group is higher than the average post-test score of the control group (23.14 > 19.18). Based on the results of this research, the researcher suggests using TikTok to teach speaking ability.
