Abstract

Larasati, Riqky Novita. 2024. 1618500006: “The Effect of Applying Part of Speech Video on English Learners Vocabulary Mastery”. Research Project. Strata 1 Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal. The first advisor Yuvita, M.Pd. and the second advisor Ihda Rosdiana, M.Hum. Key Words: Part of Speech, Video, Vocabulary Researcher apply part of speech video material with the aim finding of how the implementation part of speech video and the effect of applying part of speech video has on students' mastery of English vocabulary. Quantitative method with true experimental design was applied. The population of this study is 320 students of the grade 7 students of SMP Negeri 2 Pangkah. The sample are 64 students divided into two groups, 32 students as the experimental class and 32 students as the control class. Pre-test and post-test design was used as the instrument to collect the data with the validity result 20 questions. The result of the study shows that the significant value of post-test an experimental class is 2568 with the average 80.3 and the control class is 2373 with the average 74.2. Its mean that applying part of speech video is effective to increase students’ vocabulary mastery. It can be conclude that the ability of grade 7 students at SMP Negeri 2 Pangkah in mastery vocabulary using Part of Speech Video is very good. Then, the suggestion is this learning method can make an easier, and increase the creativity of English Teacher. Meanwhile, for the future researchers are advised to conduct research using the same media because this learning method can increase students interest in learning English.
