Abstract

The increasing population growth is not balanced by the availability of facilities and infrastructure, especially drainage channels that are irregular and have been assessed as damaged, causing flooding in the RT 02 and RT 03 sub-districts of Sumurpanggang, Tegal City. Apart from that, the awareness of residents regarding the awareness of throwing rubbish in its place is also a causal factor. the occurrence of flooding, apart from the condition of the drainage channels, this research uses a descriptive method, namely explaining the actual conditions in the field in a situation that is the object of study. The drainage channel has changed its shape and dimensions, the new dimensional planning is calculated correctly so that it can accommodate the existing flood discharge. The drainage channel planning has undergone dimensional changes, including: channel 1 b: 2.6 m and h 2.1 m channel 2 b: 80 cm and h: 95 cm.solution for handling floods by regularly maintaining the drainage channels so that there is no silting and the growth of bushes which can cause the drainage channels to experience changes in dimensions which will reduce the performance of the channels in handling floods.
