The Transitivity process was analyzed based on Halliday & Mathiesen (2013) and the grammatical errors by Azar’s (2002) theory. The results of the study showed that the percentage of material process is 60%, mental process 20%, relational process 13%, verbal process 5%, behavioral 2%, and existential 1%. While the grammatical errors showed that the verb tense was 24%, spelling 11%, capitalization 11%, article 10%, word choice 10%, add a word 10%, punctuation 9%, omit a word 8%, word order 4%, word form 1%, singular-plural 1%, and run-on sentence 1%, Based on the finding above, it can be concluded that the transitivity process is found in the student’s recount text. The most common transitivity process found in students’ recount text was a material process, with 60%, while the grammatical errors show verb tense with 24%. According to the analysis, students made grammatical errors in the verb tense. Based on the result, it can be suggested that students should pay attention to the lexicogrammatical features of recount texts to minimize errors in their writing. Besides, the students should be aware of grammatical errors, so this can reduce the possible errors made by the students.
