Abstract

Maulida, Irfaul 2024, 1619500040: “The Effect of Using Animation Movie Towards Students’ Writing Skill in Learning Narrative Text on Tenth Grade of SMKN 1 Warureja Tegal in Academic 2023/2024”, Research project. Strata 1 Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Universitas Pancasakti Tegal. First Advisor is Drs. Masfuad Edy S., M.Pd and Second Advisor is N.L Molla, S.Pd, M.Hum. Keyword: Animation Movies, Students’ Writing skill, Narrative Text The purpose of the research is to find out whether the use of animation movies is significant to improve students’ writing skill in learning narrative text and the difference between students’ writing skill before and after being taught using animation movie in learning narrative text. This research used an experimental research design for its methodology. Tenth (X) BSN students of SMKN 1 Warureja Tegal is the population selected. X BSN 3 was the experimental and X BSN 1 as the control. 72 students were enrolled in both groups. The result of study indicated a greater improvement in students’ writing. It can be evidence in the mean post-test experimental score is 70,97 compared to pretest score of 51,67. The independent t-test statistical hypothesis testing resulted in a sig 2-tail value of 0,003 < 0,05. It promoted significant to improve students’ writing skill. Additionally, there is a significant difference in students’ writing skill before and after being taught using animation movies in learning narrative. It can be seen from the data that sig (2tailed) value was 0,000 < 0,05 value using paired sample t-test. It meant null hyphothesis (〖 H〗_0) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (〖 H〗_(a )) was accepted. In conclusion, the use of animation movies gave significantly to improve on students’ writing of narrative text. For the implementations, the students showed better writing performance in term of content, organization, language expression, vocabulary, and mechanism. The suggestion for English teachers is that the use of animation movies can be a tool for supporting students in cultivated creativity of writing skill, enriching vocabulary, and comprehending the content material. Additionally the output of this study can be used and analyzed about students’ motivation and self-confidance.
