Strata I Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Pancasakti University Tegal. The first advisor is Drs. H. Rofiudin, M.Hum., and the second advisor is Endang Sulistianingsih, M.Pd. Keywords: Transition Action Details (TAD) Strategy, Writing Skills, Recount Text This research aims to find out the significant difference in learning writing of recount text in the tenth grade between group that participated in using of TAD strategy and group that participated in using conventional strategy and also to test the effectiveness of the TAD strategy on writing skills in tenth grade students of SMA N 5 Tegal in the academic year 2018/2019. The research was conducted for 8 meetings with the phases that were pretest, treatment, and posttest. The sample was obtained using a cluster random sampling technique by taking 60 students divided into two classes in the number of each class of 30 students namely X MIPA 3 as experimental group and X MIPA 4 as control group. The results of Paired Sample T-Test in the experimental group showed that the t-calculation is higher than the t-table namely (3.737 > 2.045). It means that the use of the TAD strategy is effective. Meanwhile, the result of Independent Sample T-test can be known that t-test is greater than t-table (2.113 > 2.000). It proves that the TAD strategy has a significant difference.
