Abstract
The development of digital technology has changed the way people access entertainment content. The accessibility of Netflix streaming services makes it easy for users to enjoy content, anytime and anywhere. However, this ease of access does not only bring positive things, there are also negative things that arise. Namely in the form of new challenges related to cinematographic copyright infringement. This research aims (1) To identify forms of cinematographic copyright infringement on Netflix streaming services. (2) To analyze the legal protection efforts that can be applied to overcome these violations. The type of research is library research, with a normative approach. Data sources are obtained from document searches. Data collection techniques through literature study. And analyzed with qualitative data analysis. The results of this study show that copyright infringement on Netflix occurs through the illegal sale of premium accounts, piracy of content and broadcasting of content by unlicensed home cinemas. Such violations not only harm copyright holders, but also threaten the creative industry ecosystem. Existing legal protection efforts include preventive and repressive measures, but still need to be improved. There is a need to increase public awareness about the importance of respecting copyright, as well as collaboration between the government, Netflix and e- commerce platforms to monitor and remove illegal account offerings. In addition, copyright protection regulations and broadcasting regulations must be updated to keep up with the development of digital technology. Based on the results of this research, it is hoped that it will become information and input for students, academics, practitioners, and all parties in need within the Faculty of Law, Pancasakti University Tegal.
