Pembimbing I : Renie Tri Herdiani M.Pd Pembimbing II : Dr. Suriswo, M.Pd Kata Kunci : Sarkasme, Pergaulan, Mahasiswa Bahasa merupakan alat komunikasi, dalam menanggapi lawan bicara saat berkomunikasi akan terjadi perubahan ekspresi emosi, salah satunya penggunaan bahasa sarkasme. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui : 1) bentuk penggunaan bahasa sarkasme dalam komunikasi pergaulan antar mahasiswa 2) faktor penyebab penggunaan bahasa sarkasme dalam komunikasi pergaulan antar mahasiswa 3) dampak penggunaan bahasa sarkasme dalam tinjauan psikososial. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Dengan menggunakan dua Sumber data dalam penelitian ini yang diperoleh dari data primer (berinisial FA, WIS, IY) dan data sekunder (sahabat dekat masing-masing data primer ZD, ACS, DAS). Triangulasi digunakan sebagai teknik untuk menganalisis datanya. Dari hasil dan pembahasan dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) adanya dua bentuk penggunaan bahasa sarkasme, yaitu sarkasme sebutan dan sarkasme sifat. 2) terdapat dua faktor penyebab penggunaan bahasa sarkasme yaitu lingkungan pergaulan dan pelampiasan ekspresi emosional 3) ada dua dampak penggunaan bahasa sarkasme, pertama dampak negatif yang menyebabkan renggangnya lingkup pertemanan. Sedangkan dampak positifnya yaitu bisa mengakrabkan nuansa pertemanan, selagi teman tersebut bukan tipe orang yang mudah tersinggung. Saran dari penelitian ini yaitu pikirkanlah kembali dalam menggunakan bahasa sarkasme, sebab tidak setiap individu dapat menerima hal tersebut, bisa saja ada yang merasa tersinggung dan sakit hati. This research aims to determine: 1) the form of use of sarcasm in social communication between students 2) the factors causing the use of sarcasm in social communication between students 3) the impact of the use of sarcasm in psychosocial analysis. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive design. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews and documentation. By using two data sources in this research obtained from primary data (with the initials FA, WIS, IY) and secondary data (close friends of each primary data ZD, ACS, DAS). Triangulation is used as a technique to analyze the data. From the results and discussion in this research is, 1) there are two forms of using sarcasm, namely sarcasm and character sarcasm. 2) there are two factors that cause the use of sarcasm, namely the social environment and the outlet for emotional expression. 3) there are two impacts of the use of sarcasm, the first is the negative impact which causes the circle of friendship to be separated. Meanwhile, the positive impact is that it can deepen the nuances of friendship, as long as the friend is not the type of person who is easily offended. The suggestion from this research is to think again about using sarcasm, because not every individual can accept this, there may be people who feel offended and hurt.
