Abstract

The issue of degradation of mangrove and coastal erosion: are a.lways actual. This stutjy aims to determine the condition of mangtove vegetation and coastal erosion: rate in the Brebes Regency . Research using GIS technology ( Geographic Information System) ,{JJ1d remote sensing through satellite imagery interpretation: and analysis ,of Landsat 7 TN! '" De termin ati Ofl' of the relationship model of the dynamics of ecological factors in the degradation of mangroves and coastal erosion: is done through: the analysis of a dynamic syste.1ith the help of soft warie'Power Sim 2.0. The results of the interpretation of satelltte data using NDVI ( Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) shows that the eaent of mangroves in:the Brebes coastal area 243.20 hectares live sicatleret8 the Sub District of Losart 26,56 hectares , in the Sub Dtstnct of Taniung 5,60 hectares; 35.42 hectares in Sub District Bulokamba '-in Sub District Wanasari 14.31 hectares and 111.31 hectares in Brebes ~ub District. Mangrove vegetation den:silyvalue in total for the Sub District of Losari j Tanjung ~Bulakamba ~ Wanasari and Brebes District (Kaliwli.ngi and Randusonga Wetan ) row 10.792 ~.. 19,,466 ~.. .l8~500 ~"13.034 ~.36.431 and 22.797 individuals per hectare with: NDW tn a row,,:"0m 096367 ;"0..173824 ; 0..165.197; 0.116388 .!. 0.295315 and 0.203568 with successive categories ,,:"vel')' rare ~rare} rare ~rare ~medium: and rare . Furthermore, in the coastal region Brebes obtained= groups namely mangrove vegetation density ,,:"O.J < NDJ/J ( vegetation is vie',ryrare) : 60.80 acres '-0,1 SNDVI < 0,2 (rare) : 80,34 acres j 0 j 2 < NDVI S 0,3 (moderate) : 72.92 aeries and 0,3 :5 NDVI < 0,4 ( meetings) : 29.16 hectares, In general, there is harmony be,hileen:the NDfIl data obtained from fteld observations at each station . In thDrea of research:found three types of mangrove vegetation in the number of Viable count: Rhtzophora mucronata ~Rhizophora apicuiata j Avtcennia marina and overall Rhizophora mucronata has tire highest density of 35 731 individuals I ha . at station .5 ( Kaliwlingi , Brebes Sub District). Mangrove degradation and coastal erosion in: the area Brebes each: 68 ha'"/year and 63 ha.r year.
