Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the poetry writing skills treated by the CIRC learning model and without the CIRC learning model, and the effectiveness of the CIRC learning model in learning poetry writing skills for students of class VIII of Al-Ikhlas Junior High School in 2019/2020. This research approach is a quantitative approach to the type of experimental research. The population of this research is VIII grade students of Al Ikhlas Jatinegara Middle School. The sampling technique used is the non probability sampling technique with the type of census sampling. The collection technique uses a test with a research instrument in the form of a pretest and posttest, and the criteria for evaluating the ability to write poetry. This study uses the SPSS 16.0 t-test application and manual formula calculation as a data analysis technique. The results of this study are effective CIRC learning models used in learning poetry writing skills of students of class VIII of Al Ikhlas Jatinegara Middle School in 2019/2020. The effectiveness of the CIRC learning model can be shown from the results of data analysis with the application of SPSS 16.0 ie the significance value of 2 tailed 0,000 is less than the significant level of 0.05. Also in the calculation of the manual formula shows that t = 10.30 while t table = 1.67 with a significance level of 0.05 and degrees of freedom 48. Thus the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted.
