Abstract

Deny Aditya Nur Ichsan, 2023. "Analysis of Waste Burners Vapor Using Used Cooking Oil as Fuel and Water Vapor". Thesis for the Mechanical Engineering study program, Faculty of Engineering and Computer Science, Pancasakti University of Tegal. Constraints that exist in the trash burner that has been made before, namely: 1). Initial duration of combustion in heating water to steam, 2). No water level control, 3) no fuel oil level control, 4). Oil burning is less able to light up due to lack of air circulation. From some of these problems, this is what makes the author to optimize the previous tool so that the garbage burner can work optimally and efficiently. The method in carrying out this research is for the author to use in conducting research and writing this thesis with the experimental method. The purpose of carrying out this experimental research is to search for the effect of using used fuel oil, used cooking oil and a mixture of both on certain variables under observed and controlled conditions, which include flame quality, fuel consumption, length of time the water boils and steam comes out, up to the power and efficiency of the stove. From the results of research conducted, jet stoves fueled by used oil, used cooking oil and mixtures with the addition of water vapor have a good flame quality, namely used oil with a yellow white flame with an average temperature of 354.20C. The mixed fuel (used oil + used cooking oil) has a yellow flame, the temperature reaches 326,430C while the use of used cooking oil has a yellowishred flame with the highest temperature of 319,230C. Another result from the research conducted was that the fastest evaporation time for 1 liter of water was by using used fuel oil with a time of 6.09 minutes, then with mixed oil 7.12 minutes and used cooking oil 8.75 minutes. While the most fuel consumption on this jet stove is by using used fuel oil with an amount of 0.22ml/s, then with mixed oil which is 0.21ml/s and used cooking oil 0.17 ml/s. The biggest power generated from the stove when cooking 1 liter of water is by using mixed fuel, which reaches 270.96 Watts, then using used cooking oil 248.23 Watts and 235.22 Watts of used oil. While the highest thermal efficiency is using used fuel oil which is 1.01 then with mixed oil 0.63 and used cooking oil 0.36. . Keywords: Jet stove, water vapor, used oil, used cooking oil
