Abstract

ISTIKHOMAH, NUR HAFIDHAH. 2024. 1619500057. “The Effect of Digital-Based Listening Material on The Quizizz Platform on The Listening Ability of The Eleventh-Grade Students of SMA N 3 Brebes”. Research Project. English Education Program. Faculty Of Teacher Training and Education. Pancasakti Tegal University. The First advisor is Dr. Taufiqulloh, M. Hum The second advisor is Yuvita, M.Pd. 7. Keywords: Listening, Digital-Based Listening Material on Quizizz Platform. This research investigated the empirical impact of digital-based listening materials delivered through the Quizizz Platform on the listening ability of eleventh-grade students at SMA N 3 Brebes during the academic year 2023/2024. The researcher was interested in learning whether the use of the Quizizz learning platform would bring a positive effect on the students' listening mastering or just has a negative effect. Employing a quantitative research approach, the study utilized experimental research methodology with a Pre-Experimental design, specifically the One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research population comprised eleventh-grade students at SMA N 3 Brebes, with simple random sampling as the chosen technique. The sample consists of 22 students of XI F1 SMA N 3 Brebes. Data was gathered through listening tests, namely pre-test and post-test. The results indicated a significant enhancement in the learning outcomes of eleventh-grade students, with an average post-treatment score of 78.909 compared to a pre-treatment average of 58.409. In this study, it produced information that the Sig. value on the pretest was 0.211, while on the posttest was 0.072. Both data have a value of Sig. > 0.05 means that the data was normally distributed, so the hypothesis significance test between two paired samples to determine the effectiveness of using Digital listening material on the Quizizz Platform on students' listening skills has been proven since H1 accepted and H0 rejected. The findings suggest a positive correlation between the implementation of Quizizz as an educational app for digital-based listening material and improvements in students' listening skills. It’s recommended that other researchers conduct further research to develop listening exercises based on the online Quizizz application using the information gathered in this study.
