Strata I Program. Faculty of Teacher Training and Eduaction. Universitas Pancasakti Tegal. The First Advisor is Noeris Meiristiani, M.Pd and The Second Advisor is Nur Laila Molla, S.Pd, M.Hum. Key Words: Grammar Mastery, Writing Ability, Procedure Text The objective of this research project is to discover whether there is a correlation between students’ grammar mastery and students’ writing ability in procedure text at ninth grade SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal. One of the criteria for assessing writing is grammar. The use of grammar in writing is to minimise ungrammatical features of the text. The method of this research is quantitative method with correlational design. The correlation between grammar mastery and ability in writing procedure text is applied to the Ninth grade students of SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal academic year of 2023/2024. The population of this research is ninth grade students SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal with 145 students, divided into three departments: two bilingual classes, three intensive classes, and one boarding class. The research was applied in one intensive class with 22 students in the academic year of 2023/2024. The researcher took the students as the sample by using purposive sampling. To collect data, the researcher use grammar test and writing test. To test the hypothesis, researcher used Pearson Product Moment Correlation formula in SPSS 22. The result of the correlation calculation is r = 0,590. It means that there is a significant and positive correlation between students’ grammar mastery and their ability in writing procedure text at ninth grade SMP Ihsaniyah Tegal. Then, the researcher advised the teachers tries to collaborate both of them to raise the students’ grammar mastery, especially in simple present tense, noun, temporal conjunction, imperative, and material verb.
