Abstract
Tita Anggun Cahanaya. 2022. 1618500050 : “The Use of “Drops” Application And Its Effect on Student Vocabulary Achievement (An Experimental Research on 7th Graders Of SMP Negeri 3 Petarukan In Academic Year 2021/2022)” Research Project Strata 1 Program, Faculty Of Teacher Training And Education, Pancasakti University Tegal. First Advisor : Dr. Taufiqulloh, M.Hum Second Advisor : Anin Eka Sulistyawati, M. Hum Keywords: Drops application, vocabulary, smartphone The purpose of this research is to find out the implementation of the use of "Drops" Application use on students vocabulary achievement, to find out the effective of “Drops” Apps to improve student vocabulary and to find out there is significance of using the “Drops” application. This research also used True-Experimental that use Posttest Only Control Design. The population of the research is the first-year students or seventh graders of SMP Negeri 3 Petarukan in the academic year 2021/2022, with sample is VII-F as a experimental group and VII-D as a control group. This research used two instruments, test and checklist. The researcher gave the students 25 questions in the post-test. A checklist provides to find out the implementation of “Drops” application. The result of posttest is 69,60 as mean of experimental group and 59,47 as mean of control group. Furthermore, result of checklist from 10 questions, student responded agree and strongly agree. Based on results research data, it can be said that the application of the "Drops" application in students' English learning shows that almost 80% of students use the "Drops" application in learning vocabulary. Next, the use of the "Drops" application is effective in learning vocabulary. It can be seen in appendix where the post-test average score for the experimental group is higher than the post-test average score for the control group, for the post-test average score for the experimental group is 69,60 and the control group average score is 59,60. With a difference of 10, it shows that the use of the "Drops" application is effective in students' vocabulary achievement. Furthermore, the significance value between the post-test score of the experimental group and the post-test score of the control group is 0.003. The researcher used < sig = 0.05 (5%) as the significant standard. Then the alternative hypothesis is accepted, because the significance result is 0.003 which means it is smaller than 0.05.
